It was 8:30 in the night. My huband & I were in the car. Suddenly my husband stopped the car. I asked him. Why did you stop? What happened? He said. “See there” he raised his hand & showed using the index finger. There was a branch about 50 cms diameter lying on the road. I was about to get down to clear the road by moving it aside. Suddenly, I realised that....it is moving by itself. Got scared. There was a big snake Boa.
We were going to my mother's house after visiting some Temples. This place is 15 kilometers away from Puttur city. House is in the middle of thick forest. Where you get to see wild animals like Cheeta, Boar, Ape, Wolf and birds like Eagle, Bat, Kite, Peacock, Wood pecker and variety of insects & flowers. There are plenty of flowers in the forest which no painter in the world can paint, no software engineer can programme to get such results. Beautiful & Breathtaking atmosphere.
As you take deviation from the Puttur – Bangalore highway, you are welcomed by animals shouting, Insects humming & birds singing. They will continue singing till you reach our villa. Now you will hear our security guards Raja, Raki, Rubi & Toni barking. Ofcourse, their house is very next to our house on left side.
God created a trench by joining two huge hills on the bank of river Gowri. But my father had put lot of effort to level one of the hill & construct his dream house. There is a hill on right side of the house. 10 mtrs deep trench on left side. And a huge hill again after trench. My parents worked day & night to grow plants like Rubber, Pepper, Coffee, Pineapple, Cardamom, Bamboo, Nutmag and many more.
There is a temple of family god called Dharma Daiva on right corner about 100 mtrs before the house. There is always flower bed infront of the temple showered by the nature.
The right side hill is decorated by Rubber plants. The trench on left side of the house is closed by Areca trees. There is Cardamom, Banana, Pepper, Coffee plants also in between Areca trees. There are coconut trees standing on the hill after trench like Giraffes. It is a trek to go from one end of the hill to the other end, because of the rocky surface in between.
Now you must be wondering, what is there behind the villa. There is a 200 mtrs long building. There are about 8 rooms. The first room doesn't have any door. But there are some valuable things like Grinder, Fridge, washing machine, Sewing machine etc. There has never been any theft in the history of the villa. 6 rooms are given for labours to keep their things. There is a 50mtrs long cow shed after 8th room. Opposite to cow shed is Rubber tanning factory. After the cow shed comes the Rest room. The distance from the living hall to the rest room is 350 mtrs. Here people doesn't have to keep separate time for walking or exercise.
Amazing Areca plantation continues from here till bank of river Gowri. In between there are huge trees where you find honey combs.
My smart father planted bamboo on the edge of the river to avoid downstream. There are variety of fishes in river Gowri. We used to do fishing during our holidays.
We enjoyed our childhood...swimming in river Gowri, Eating variety of fruits, smelling flowers, Tasting fresh & pure Honey, watching animals & birds, hearing music of insects.
I know, how difficult it is to grow a single plant. But my father succeeded in creating a heaven on earth with the help of river Gowri, God Dharma Daiva & ofcourse nature. Nature blessed him by giving a gift of satisfaction & peace of mind.
Today we need more such natural heavens than so called man made heavens, that is resorts. Lets join hands with nature to create more "HEAVENS ON EARTH".
